熊本駅前から、レンタカーで二時間ちょっと。途中、阿蘇の外輪山をまわり、快適なドライブ。

川沿いに旅館が並ぶ。入湯手形を購入すると三カ所までの入湯または入湯二カ所とお土産品一つと交換できる。
手形には『露天風呂』と書いてあるが、普通に内湯も入れる。
川向こうは旅館御客屋。

御客屋の内湯。この時間、男湯の露天は使用できなかった。
休日で通りに人は多かったが、風呂は貸し切り状態だ。

わろく屋三種のカレー。美味。ご飯少なめ。

熊本空港のレンタカー屋では「中国人は皆無、韓国人も少ない」と聞いていたが、ここ黒川温泉では韓国人とおぼしき観光客を結構見かけた。
こぢんまりとした風情のある温泉地だ。御客屋と黒川荘で入浴したが、泉質が違っていて面白い。御客屋は透明な湯、黒川荘は白濁したお湯だった。
車の運転が苦にならないなら、熊本市内から日帰りで楽しめる。途中、カーナビに崩落で通行止めの道に案内されてＵターンしたりもしたが、ご愛敬だ。熊本は地震や水害の影響が残っていることをあらためて思い知る。
